| Ravine Reclamation Pilot Project World Bank aided UP Sodic Land Reclamation Project III for reclamation of 5000 hectare ravenous land in Fatehpur and Kanpur Dehat districts. |

| Ravines are system of gullies running more of less parallel to each other and draining in to major river or its tributaries. In U.P. such ravines are commonly founds along the river Yamuna, Chambal and their tributaries. |

| 1997-2000:- NABARD-funded Ravine reclamation project: 0.41 lac ha |
| 2002-2005- GoUP Ravine stabilization projects 0.07 lac ha |
| The UP Bhumi Sudhar Nigam launched pilot project of ravine reclamation under UPSLR-III P in 2009-10 in 2500 ha in Fatehpur and 2500 ha in Kanpur Dehat districts on watershed approach with the main objectives of in situ moisture conservation, rain water harvesting, checking soil erosion and ingress of ravine into table land, development of shallow ravines for agriculture and horticulture and stabilization of medium and deep ravines with grass and forest vegetation and engineering structures on watershed approach as per the National policy on Ravine Reclamation. |
